DCU Invent provides regular training courses for researchers and entrepreneurs in collaboration with DCU HR Training, DCU Business School and the DCU Ryan Academy. We also run a varied and dynamic series of interactive seminars and workshops on topics relating to business start-ups and innovation. See our Events section.
We work with DCU HR Training to provide continuous professional development for research staff through the DCU Research Career Framework. The outcome of this training is to support research staff in developing a set of valuable and transferable skills that shall enhance their career opportunities.

Post Graduate Training - IP and Commercialisation Module
DCU Invent and the DCU Business School run an accredited 4 day IP and Commercialisation Training Workshop every year for PhD students. This includes a series of seminars on IP capture, protection and exploitation, marketing, finance, business planning and includes presentations from invited entrepreneurs on their personal experience of commercialising cutting edge research. At the end of the workshop, the students are invited to pitch the business case for a new start-up company based on their technology of interest.

Tech Venture Programme
DCU Invent offers an exciting training programme specifically designed for DCU researchers who may be interested in becoming part of the team in a technology business. The programme is delivered by a group of experienced business people with significant industrial experience. It explores the critical issues at the very early stage of having an idea for a new technology venture and is very practical in nature. New Frontiers Programme
This national entrepreneur development programme is delivered as a collaboration between Dundalk Institute of Technology and DCU Invent and funded by Enterprise Ireland. It provides a comprehensive suite of supports for high potential entrepreneurs operating in the technology sector to help accelerate their business development and to equip them with the skills and contacts needed to successfully start and grow a company. This exciting programme provides training, mentoring aiding businesses to accelerate in a variety of technology sectors.
